Jesston “Jess” Wilson is a seasoned firearms instructor with Guardian Training & Consulting, bringing over a decade of military, tactical, and operational experience to every course he leads. A former U.S. Marine Corps Sergeant, Jess served with distinction in Afghanistan as part of the elite 1st Marine Special Operations Battalion (SOTF-81), where he was responsible for critical aerial delivery missions, secure convoy operations, and the development of standard operating procedures in dynamic combat environments.

 

His military service earned him the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, along with advanced certifications in SERE Level C, Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC), Airborne, Military Free-Fall, Rigger, and Tactical ATV operations. Jess’s time in uniform instilled in him a level of discipline, precision, and composure under pressure that now forms the foundation of his firearms instruction.

 

As a USCCA Certified Instructor and Arizona State 4H Certified Shooting Instructor, Jess is passionate about translating his tactical knowledge into practical, real-world training. Whether teaching concealed carry, red dot pistol, or advanced low-light engagements, he combines a warrior’s mindset with a coach’s clarity. His instruction emphasizes not just technical proficiency, but also mindset, safety, and situational awareness—essentials for anyone carrying a firearm in defense of self or others.

 

Beyond the range, Jess has also led teams in the industrial sector as a heavy equipment mechanic, certified welder, and fabrication specialist. His background in safety compliance, logistics, and leadership further enhances the structure and quality of his courses.
