Chris Hurja

Firearms, Tactics Instructor

Christopher Hurja is a retired Master Sergeant of the United States Marine Corps and a highly respected logistics, security, and firearms training professional with over 21 years of military and civilian leadership experience. He brings combat-tested decision-making, real-world instructional expertise, and an unwavering commitment to operational excellence to Guardian Training & Consulting.

Throughout his distinguished Marine Corps career, Chris led large-scale transportation and logistics operations supporting global and combat deployments. As a Senior Logistics Instructor, he trained and mentored Marines in mission-critical mobility, supply chain execution, and tactical coordination. Rising to the rank of Master Sergeant, he was entrusted with the oversight of multimillion-dollar assets, mission planning under pressure, and the professional development of hundreds of service members.

Following his retirement from the military, Chris transitioned into key roles in the healthcare industry—serving as a Logistics Supervisor and Facility Training Officer in major emergency departments, where he managed high-volume inventory operations and responded to more than 1,600 security incidents, including 785 critical events. His leadership was instrumental in ensuring safety, continuity of care, and preparedness in complex, high-stakes environments.

Chris is also a USCCA Certified Instructor in Concealed Carry & Home Defense Fundamentals, delivering clear, confident, and legally grounded firearms training for responsible gun owners. His instruction is rooted in years of both operational and instructional experience, focusing on firearm safety, situational awareness, use-of-force considerations, and defensive shooting techniques. He combines tactical realism with a calm, methodical approach that helps clients build competence under pressure.

He holds additional certifications in 5-Play De-escalation, non-lethal weapons, defensive tactics, Lean Six Sigma, Scrum, and Resilience-Based Leadership. He earned a B.A. in Organizational Management, a Graduate Certificate in Marketing, and is currently pursuing his MBA at Arizona State University’s W. P. Carey School of Business.

At Guardian, Chris leads by example. Whether on the range, in the classroom, or during operational planning, he brings humility, experience, and precision to every training mission—embodying Guardian’s commitment to equipping individuals and organizations with the skills and mindset to prevail in dynamic real-world environments.
