Pepper spray is one of the most effective and widely carried personal defense tools available, but carrying it is not enough. This introductory course teaches the fundamentals of selecting, carrying, and deploying SABRE and ASP pepper sprays and gels safely, legally, and effectively.
Students will learn how pepper spray works, the differences between spray patterns and formulations, proper carry methods, deployment techniques, effective targeting, safety considerations, storage, maintenance, and legal considerations. The course includes classroom instruction and hands-on practice using inert water-filled training units only.
No live OC pepper spray will be deployed during class, and students will not be exposed to or sprayed with OC.
TASER Devices for Self-Defense

TASER devices can provide an effective less-lethal option for personal protection, but owning one is not the same as knowing how to use it. This introductory course provides the knowledge and hands-on training needed to safely and effectively use the TASER Pulse 2 and TASER StrikeLight 2.
Students will learn how each device works, understand their features and operating mechanics, practice proper deployment techniques, and review safe handling, storage, maintenance, and legal considerations. Students will gain hands-on experience by deploying a TASER Pulse 2 training unit into an actual target and practicing proper striking techniques with the TASER StrikeLight 2 on designated training targets.
Students will not be subjected to a TASER device deployment.
