PREVAIL Guardian Assessment
Guardian PREVAIL Assessment
The Guardian PREVAIL Assessment is a rigorous test of concealed carry readiness that measures a shooter’s ability to perform under strict standards of accuracy, time, and weapon handling. It is designed to simulate high-stress, real-world encounters where only precision, efficiency, and decisive action lead to success.
Core Principles
Pass/Fail Evaluation – A perfect target score is required. Every round must land within the designated scoring zones.
Time-Driven Performance – Every standard is performed under strict time limits, ensuring students can operate under pressure.
Realistic Malfunction Clearing – Students must demonstrate the ability to diagnose and clear Type 1, Type 2, and Type 3 malfunctions within par times.
Levels of Achievement – Students progress through color-coded levels (Tan, Gray, Green, Brown, and Black) with increasing demands on start position, movement, and accuracy.
Shooting Standards
Close-Range Precision: Head and upper chest shots from 3–15 yards under timed conditions.
3+3 Drill: Fire 3 rounds, perform a slide-lock reload, and fire 3 more rounds within 8 seconds.
Movement Requirements: Depending on level, shooters must incorporate lateral steps and holstered draws.
Non-Shooting Standards
Malfunction Clearances:
Type 1 (Failure to Fire) – 1.4 seconds
Type 2 (Failure to Eject) – 1.6 seconds
Type 3 (Failure to Extract) – 6.5 seconds
Shooters must successfully complete all shooting and non-shooting standards to pass.
Advancement
Shooters may attempt multiple levels in one day (except Black). Success at one level qualifies them to attempt the next, either the same day or at a later date.
The Mindset
To PREVAIL means more than hitting the target—it means demonstrating composure, skill, and readiness when it matters most. This assessment is not simply a qualification; it is a proving ground where you either PREVAIL… or you do not

PREVAIL Assessment Levels
Each level of the PREVAIL Assessment represents an increased demand on starting position, movement, and precision under pressure. The shooting distances, round counts, and time limits remain the same across levels — the difference is in how you start, move, and manage your weapon.

Purpose: Represents the pinnacle of performance, efficiency, and combat mindset under stress.
The Black Level Award
Achieving Black Level in the Guardian PREVAIL Assessment is the pinnacle of performance. It represents mastery of accuracy, speed, decision-making, and composure under pressure. Few will attempt it — fewer still will prevail.
Those who successfully complete Black Level earn more than recognition. They are awarded:
The Guardian PREVAIL Black Patch – a visible symbol of elite achievement.
A Numbered Guardian PREVAIL Coin – each coin is serialized, representing permanent entry into the ranks of Guardian Pistol Masters.
The coin bears the inscription: “Performance on Demand”, reminding every holder that skill alone is not enough — the true measure of mastery is the ability to perform flawlessly, the first time, when it matters most.

✅ At every level, all shots must be within the designated scoring zones and all standards (shooting and non-shooting) must be passed. If you prevail at one level, you may attempt the next either the same day or later.
